Don't let the name "chico" (small) fool you. This lure is just a bit smaller, lighter, and offers a slimmer profile than its big brother, the "grande" size Peacock Ripper yet packs the same big time commotion. It was designed for those preferring a bait that will not wear you out as much as the larger prop baits, yet still create the same enticing sound and surface disturbance of these heavier ripping lures. The Peacock Ripper Chico lure body is 6-inches in length and weighs 1.5-ounces. Hooks are VMC 6x 3/0 Permasteel and ready to fish. A set of counter rotating SS chopper props are attached with 2.5 inch long SS .092 eye screw. These props are easy to rip all day and are very loud. Life-like eyes are 1/2 inch. In addition to peacock bass; these lures can also be effective on stripers and other large gamefish. For best results, fish on a 6'2"-6'6" MH to H action casting rod, 65-pound braided line and fast gear ratio reel.

I rig the lures with top quality components and they are ready to fish right out of the package. I tune each prop for maximum turbulence prior to shipping.

The Peacock Ripper "Grande ST"
The “grande” size Peacock Ripper was designed for those anglers that are of the firm belief that it takes a large bait to tempt the biggest, toughest peacock bass in South America. The wooden lure body is 7 inches in length and the lure weighs 1.75 ounces. Hooks are VMC 6x 3/0 Permasteel and ready to fish. A set of counter rotating SS chopper props are attached with 2.5 inch long SS .092 eye screw. This set of props is easy to rip and very loud. Life-like fish attracting eyes are 1/2 inch . These lures are turned by hand one at a time using premium grade white pine. In addition to peacock bass; these lures can also be effective on stripers and other large gamefish. For best results, fish on a 6'2"-6'6" heavy action casting rod, 80-pound braided line and fast gear ratio reel.

Currently available in three sizes and four colors; 1 oz , 1.5 sizes, and .75 oz. in Firetiger, Sunfire, Chartreuse/White, and Red/White colors. Primary spinner blade is #5 and secondary blade is #4. Hook is 7/0 in the sizes 1.5 and 1 oz and a 6/0 in the .75 oz size. These baits are built to handle big fish. Wire is .062 inch diameter hardened steel.
